I’ve read a lot of bad reviews for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on the Wii, and i cannot say they aren’t justified, but the game is fun even with all of its warts.

I played the original MUA on the PC, and in comparison the wii graphics are lackluster. The campaign itself is short, and the fusion system (where you combine with another hero on your team for a special move) replaces the special moves each hero had in the original — not, in my opinion, a good trade. The control scheme on the Wii is far less precise than my trusty PC keyboard. In spite of all these problems, this game provides a single redeeming feature that it’s predecessor on the PC could not. I can stand in my living room and play side by side with my 8 year old daughter.

There aren’t enough cooperative multiplayer games, in my opinion, and MUA 2 on the Wii helps to address that need. While the implementation has rough edges (I find myself saying “Where are you going? Come back! I can’t see the guy I’m fighting!”) it’s fun to fight side by side with my children.

As long as you go into this game with apropriately low expectations, you can have a lot of fun with it. There are many technically better games available, but the fact is that most of them are either single player or competitive multiplayer. If you want to fight evil *alongside* your friends and familly, give this game a try.

At first this game was really fun. But this game became really lame when I realized there were no other costumes and the boost system doesnt work like it does for the other systems. I figured I was getting a stripped down version of this game as compared to the 360 and PS3 iterations, however, I was not prepared for how abismal this game would be.

At first I didnt think I would mind not having alt. costumes, but as I neared the end of the game I became disenchanted with the replay value. And Im not much for multi-player so I will keep quiet regarding this. Other than an alt. 3 act THERE IS NO REPLAY VALUE. This game would have been a better value if I would have found it in a bargain bin for $10.

I love comics and games, but I dont think I will stick around to play the next MUA. Thanks Marvel.

THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS GAME: Amazon did a good job ensuring I had the pre-order within a few days of its release.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is finally here, hitting every platform available as it seems, and while the end result turns out to be good on the XBox 360 and PS3, what we find here on the Wii is a disappointment to be sure. The Wii version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 manages to provide good amounts of action and a large cast of Marvel heroes and villains to pick from and put to use, but the rest of the game is fairly messy. Bland graphics and environments, terrible AI (especially that of your partners), a poor camera, and no use of alternate controlers meaning you’re stuck using the Wii-mote and nunchuk with some pointless and annoying motion controls, and this is what you get. When the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance came out, it was a pure blast all across the board, and one of the best games to get for the Wii at the time. Even on the Wii, the fusion attacks still look good and perform well, and the four player local co-op mode can be fun, but other than that, there really isn’t a whole lot here to look forward to. All in all, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on the Wii is worth a look for Marvel loving Wii owners, but in the end, the Wii version is a disappointment.

This game was OK, The reason I gave it 3 stars is because, the game is really short, and the graphics were not up to par. This was a step down and backwards from the first MUA. I had really high hopes for this game maybe my expectations were set too, high?

I have been a major fan of these games, but something about the Wii and this game seem weird.

The controls are a lil off…

    The graphics miss the mark…

But i think what really doesnt work for me is the games difficulty curve. For 1, on medium/normal the game is more or less easy since you have an abundance of teammates beating villians up, until you get to the bosses who are uber strong.

I think this game would work better with 2 players, like Streets of Rage or something along those lines

    EDIT

    Definitely not worth 45+
