I purchased this for my grandson’s birthday (age 11), after consulting with his dad about what he already had, wanted, or was allowed to have. Harry Potter was at the top of the list. He has a Wii, and does video games more with the TV than the computer.

What is interesting with this game is it follows some aspects of the book that the movie doesn’t. However, this is not a really hard game. The only thing I had to repeat many times was running after, and catching Draco Malfoy. It was a little frustrating, since the Wii joystick responds a little differently from other joysticks I am familiar with. Also, it doesn’t take too long to finish this game, as long as you take the time to master flying and dueling.

With this said, I am glad I purchased this game.

Quick review on this game. I was a bit disapointed after paying full price for this game at a store to see that this game was literally completed finished in under 3-4 hours of 1 straight through play session. There’s some replay value with the “endless” day that you get after beating the game, so that you can run around and gain additional crests and duel in the “house clubs”, but these honestly didn’t hold my interest long. I managed about 130/150 total crests before I said enough is enough.

Great fun while the game lasted, but the game is SHORT, very short. Definitely not worth the money of a full priced game at the moment. Wait till the price drops / becomes a bargain bin purchase.
